Polisombra

Gabriel Mejía Abad (b.1978), Lorena Espitia (b.1984) y Tupac Cruz (b. 1976)

En está exposición se presenta como un recorrido por los últimos trabajos de Gabriel Mejía Abad, Lorena Espitia y Tupac Cruz. Se podrán ver pinturas, esculturas y dibujos de estos artistas resultado de una red oculta que los une y influencia a dar vida a Polisombra.

Para esta ocasión se ponen en diálogo abstracciones delirantes y concreciones sobrias, vibraciones de color puro y contorsiones de cuerpos alegres, anuncios publicitarios, imágenes del cine en donde se recuperan pensamientos inconexos, como si fueran vestigios arqueológicos de un pueblo triangular, que son ellos tres. De igual manera se interceptan diferentes órdenes de imágenes abstractas, pragmáticas, comerciales y políticas, cada una de ellas nacidas de premoniciones distintas, pero tal vez unidas por una extrañeza hacia el mundo, o la simple certeza de su más profunda fragmentación.

There is a hidden fabric, a network that unites us. We do not know very well what material the threads are made of, or if there are knots that join them, or if they are only held together by a kind of gravitational force. We sense that there are shadows that shelter us in parallel and currents that move us in strange directions.

We put these hunches under the protection of a synthetic roof and let them start talking to each other without a script, trying to respect the space that each of these phenomena has earned, allowing them to inhabit a common space. Polisombra is a simple survival experiment, where different orders of abstract, pragmatic, commercial and political images intersect, each one born of different premonitions, but perhaps united by a strangeness towards the world, or the simple certainty of its more deep fragmentation.
