Mateo Zúñiga (b. 1993)

Con un enfoque multidisciplinario e informado en las tendencias posmodernistas y de post-guerra, Mateo Zúñiga asume lo anecdótico, lo sutil y sugerente como argumentos para crear imágenes. La obra parte de la observación y creación de espacios, atmósferas e instantes invitando a una introspección profunda; entiende la pintura y el dibujo como un constante sucederse, fallando, insistiendo y experimentando, está abierto al juego con la luz, a las posibilidades cromáticas de los materiales y alude a la razón y a la intuición a la hora de crear.

Pinta para liberar

para caminar y habitar cada partícula, 

cada destello

cada sombra

recompone

encuentra placer en el gesto y el ritmo,

persigue el silencio

una y otra vez

esos actos privados se revelan

con la invitación a su casa y a la infancia

que se construye  día a día.

With a multidisciplinary approach and informed in the postmodernist and post-war tendencies, Mateo Zúñiga assumes the anecdotal, the subtle and suggestive to create images. The observation and creation of spaces, atmospheres and instants  prompt us into deep introspection; he understands painting and drawing as a constant trial and error, where he experiments with light and the chromatic possibilities of materials and so alluding to reason and intuition when creating.

to walk and to inhabit each particle

each gleam

every shadow

recomposing

paints to release

finding pleasure in the gesture and rhythm

pursuing silence

and again those private moments

are revealed with the invitation to his childhood and private home

which is built day by day  

we are born with an imprint and we grow  in a collective
