From June25th to August 25th, Pivô welcomes the artist Matias Armendaris in the residency programme Pivô Research. Armendaris was granted with Brazil Prize – Emergent Art 2017 with the artwork “Ataúd de mosca muerta”. The prize, supported by the Center of Contemporary Art of Quito, foster young artists’ production in Ecuador. The commitee selection was composed by Fabiano Kueva (artist), Miguel Alvear (artist) and Jéssica Varrichio (curator). During his residency, Armendaris will work in collaboration with Hanya Beliá in the project “asma”.
